Many schools or companies worldwide choose more professionals from native speaker countries than non-native speaker countries: why do those companies prefer that?. A non-native English teacher with good competence and proficiency can perform whatever task in English in the same way as native English teachers. There is discrimination regarding this issue. Considering this, we formulate this question, who is better: a native English teacher or a non-native English teacher?
The non-native English teachers learn the language in two ways:
1. Learn English as a foreign language, or
2. Learn English as a second language.
We put more emphasis on teachers that learn English as a second language because those kinds of professionals academically learn the language. In addition, they study English at university or take higher English courses.
In comparison, non-native English teachers formally speak the language more than native teachers because native teachers from North America and European countries where English is spoken they informally speak English due to their culture, behavior, and social interactions.
Definitely, native English teacher has a good level of pronunciation than non-native teachers. However, a non-native English teacher with years of experience can get an advanced level of pronunciation.
So, what is your opinion about that? Do you agree that native English teachers are better than non-native teachers?
